All the advantages of an INDEVA compared to traditional manipulators

INDEVA vs. traditional manipulators
The INDEVA (Intelligent Devices for Handling) are an evolution of the traditional manipulators and belong to the new industrial manipulator class known as Intelligent Assist Devices or IADs.
Compared to traditional manipulators the INDEVA allow operators to manipulate loads with greater speed and precision.
Based on a mechatronic technology that, thanks to sensors, controls and servo-assisted motors, endows the system of great responsiveness, providing true collaboration between human operators and the computer controlled equipment. An Indeva enables operators to lift and manoeuvre naturally, as if it were an extension of their own arm.
By simply grasping the finger-tip sensitive handle or the load itself (Float mode function) and gently applying force in the desired direction, the operator can manipulate loads as they weighed almost nothing.
An INDEVA will help improve productivity together with ergonomics and safety. For high value products that require rapid, repetitive movement an INDEVA is the safest and most productive lifting device available as it gives the responsiveness and flexibility of a human operator plus the power of a machine; it is therefore the perfect solution for quick, repetitive motions and slow, precise load placements.

The INDEVA control unit is vibration and splash proof:
its enclosure protection is guaranteed IP 54. It is equipped with many I/O as interface with different sensors, actuators and PC.

 
To resume, compared to the traditional handling devices, such as hoists or pneumatic manipulators, the INDEVA offer the following advantages:


• Precise positioning of the load
they allow for accurate and rapid movements, while traditional handling devices over-travel, bounce and require lots of little corrective movements that, added to cycle time, reduce productivity.
• Improved ergonomics- quick and smooth load handling
Thanks to the microprocessor based control, the system respond swiftly, yet smoothly to human touch, winning inertia both during acceleration and braking, amplifying operator movements. The operator notices no time lapse between the machine sensing and its response. INDEVA, in fact, are not affected by the technological limitations of traditional air manipulators and hoists, thanks to modern digital drives and servomotors.
• Intuitive control
The INDEVA compared to the conventional balancers which are preset for one or two weights, get automatically and instantly adjusted to the weight of the load, thus allowing to handle loads of varying weights without having the operator reset the system each time. The float mode function allows operators to perform precision tasks with their hands on the load itself for maximum control with no need to use handles or to press buttons (hands on the load).
• Easy to manoeuvre:
traditional handling devices require unwieldy and heavy lifting tools (end effectors) while the INDEVA allow for light and compact lifting tools which ensure greater visibility during handling operations and greater ease in moving and positioning loads.
• Strong ,yet light:
the INDEVA is unique also for being very compact and light, yet very strong. Its arm it’s not affected by the heavy loads it can bear, and horizontal movements (on the X –Y axis) are very smooth.
